Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. Thessalonians 5:11
Encouragement comes in many forms. It could come from a sermon at church, sharing your heart with a friend over coffee, or a simple surprise gift. Sometimes we forget the power that just a simple gift has; showing that person we are thinking of them and praying for their situation no matter how big or small.
For example, we have a program at our church designed by our ladies group where members of the church donate items needed. At the end of the year, a gift bag or basket is created using those items and then delivered to some of the elderly or people who are unable to leave their homes in our community. We know first hand how big of an impact a gift like this makes! With just the smallest amount of encouragement comes a great deal of strength to carry on!
- Who do you know that needs to be encouraged?
- Consider calling them, sending them a quick text, or meeting them for coffee.
Dear God, it can be easy to lose sight of those around me who need encouragement. Help me to see them today and show me how I can show them Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
